Manager, Box Office and Group Sales (MCG Jazz)

SUMMARY
The Box Office and Group Sales Manager ensures the highest degree of customer service and efficiency as part of an overall effort to maximize MCG Jazz sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include, and are not strictly limited to, the following:

  • Maintains and updates the contact management database for existing and potential subscribers, patrons, MCG Jazz Club members and sales channels for all of MCG Jazz.
  • Maintains source lists and prepares content for direct mail and email blasts to perspective groups.
  • Organizes center visits; develops invitation lists, ticket distribution, etc. at shows.
  • Evaluates general sales inquiries and responds with the appropriate information in a timely and efficient manner. Coordinates follow-up and next steps accordingly.
  • Follows up with group sales clients.
  • Researches, maintains and organizes information on other cultural organizations, products and pricing.
  • Manages all ticket office operations.
  • Greets guests and sells tickets, answers questions and resolves difficulties.
  • Generates, in consultation with Executive Producer, ticket pricing and packaging.
  • Manages customer relations as it pertains to subscribers, single ticket buyers, MCG Jazz Club members, group sales, and other inquiries related to concerts and events both on and off site.
  • Processes phone, fax, mail and internet orders, exchanges, ticket donations and related tax credit letters, student sales and complimentary tickets.
  • Processes dinner package reservations and invoices with/from partner restaurants.
  • Processes credit card transactions, check and cash tendered for subscriptions, single tickets, membership and product sales.
  • Creates and distributes subscriber renewal information and concert reminders.
  • Creates and distributes concert and event information for the web site and on-line ticketing.
  • Creates concerts and events references in the ticketing software.
  • Tracks attendance of concerts and events both on and off site.
  • Obtains responsible volunteers for front of house (i.e., ushers) for all concerts and events on and off site.
  • Trains volunteers and supervises their activities.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for overseeing volunteers and occasional staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Related Bachelor's degree, and 3 years related customer service, volunteer management, sales, cash handling and reconciliation experience. Must be proficient in MS Office applications with strong Excel experience a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
