Bill Strickland had star billing at Point Park University’s Starmakers Gala in the Hilton ballroom. When the visionary potter founded the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild, he envisioned a program that would use art to keep inner city kids off the streets. Today, the Manchester Bidwell enterprise in the North Side has grown into a national model for career education, culture and hope … a success story that other cities are clamoring to replicate. And, if you need an introduction to this man, may I ask how long was your nap, Mr. Van Winkle?
