How to Become a Replication Site

Recognizing that every community is unique, NCAT cultivates relationships with each interested city by helping them learn more about the program model, its benefits, and the process of replication.

NCAT has designed a thorough and systematic replication protocol that takes each city into the process of becoming an affiliate through three phases.

Phase 1: Feasibility

Proposed length: 12 months

The purpose of the feasibility phase is to determine whether the potential affiliate has the essential key attributes critical for successful replication. NCAT and the core local leadership of each site will conduct a detailed due diligence study to assess the need and readiness of the community.

Phase 2: Pre-opening/Planning

Proposed length: 12 months

NCAT will guide community leaders through a detailed start up process for their center, which will include:

  • Identification and training of an executive director
  • Creation of a board of directors
  • Incorporation of Center for the Arts and Technology
  • Guidance of facility design and renovation
  • First year start-up curriculum
  • Guidance for fundraising strategies

Phase 3: Early Implementation

Proposed length: 2–3 years

This phase includes:

  • Curriculum expansion
  • Program development, quality, and consistency
  • Guidance of facility expansion
  • Infrastructure development
  • Relationship building
